About TUT
In order to promote diversity and provide access to higher education, three previous Technikons merged to become Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in 2004. TUT has expanded dramatically since its founding and is now acknowledged as South Africa's largest contact university.
Education, humanities, business and administration, engineering and the built environment, science, and the arts are among the university's faculties. To educate students for a variety of professional fields, these faculties provide a broad range of academic programs.
According to the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings, TUT’s engineering programmes are placed among the top 300 in the world. Overall, the university is ranked within the top 1,000 universities globally and holds the seventh position among universities in South Africa.
