About
The top institution in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is the Durban institution of Technology (DUT), which has more over 33,000 students. It is situated in the quaint cities of Pietermaritzburg and Durban (PMB). As a university of technology, it demands that all of its faculty members have the highest qualifications since it places a high value on the quality of instruction and learning.
The Durban University of Technology was founded in April 2002 by the merger of Technikon Natal Technikons and ML Sultan. Like the other technical universities, it was once known as the Durban Institute of Technology before renaming itself the Durban University of Technology.
