About TUT

In 2004, Tshwane University of Technology was formed by the merger of three technical colleges. Their merger aimed to make amends by providing an academic home and access to our communities for all of their students. They have rapidly grown to become the largest contact university in South Africa, with seven schools offering degrees in teaching, the humanities, business and administration, engineering and technology, and the arts. TUT is one of the top 1000 universities in the world, and its engineering programs rank in the top 300, according to Times Higher Education (THE). THE has us at number seven in South Africa as well.
